Celebrating our very own 'Culture Day'!

Due to the large number of nationalities working in Icon Accounting, we decided to celebrate this diversity with our very own ‘Culture Day’! This give us an opportunity to learn more about the countries and cultures of our colleagues plus giving us a greater understanding of their background. We have 8 different nationalities work in Icon Accounting – Moldovan, Indian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Latvian, Puerto Rican, Ukrainian and of course Irish!  With this rich diversity, we put all the countries into a hat and chose 4 at random. The 4 countries picked were Moldova, Romania, Puerto Rico and Lithuania.  Each team was assigned a country, were they had to learn about the history, culture, food, national dress, national dance etc. Each team represented their newly adopted country with gusto and as the pictures show, we really got into the swing of things!  Also, the staff members who are from these countries were happy to teach us and speak about their homeland with pride! Everyone got a lot out of this experience and it made us really understand and respect the diversity of our team. It also made us appreciate how alike we all are because when it came down to it, each all have a great love for dance, food and a good laugh!
