As of 29th January 2025, the Civil Service subsistence rates in Ireland have been revised. These updates are particularly important for independent contractors, freelancers, and professionals who frequently travel for work and claim business travel and accommodation expenses.

Updated Overnight Allowances
Normal Rate: Increased from €195.00 to €205.53
Reduced Rate: Increased from €175.00 to €184.98
Detention Rate: Increased from €95.00 to €102.76
Updated Day Allowances
10+ hours: Increased from €42.99 to €46.17
5 to 10 hours: Increased from €17.92 to €19.25
Vouched Accommodation Rate Updates
Accommodation: Increased from €195.00 to €205.53
Meals: Increased from €42.99 to €46.17
Mileage & Motor Travel Rates
There are no changes to mileage rates, which remain the same as the last update in 2022.
