On September 13th 2013, Icon Accounting took part in the 40ft Challenge supporting the brilliant Laura Lynn Foundation. The event was held at the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghire and corporate sponsors were all provided with their very own Beneteau 31.7 sailing boat together with Captain and Crew!
The race course started in Dun Laoghire Harbour, continued around Dalkey Island and the 40ft mark and then back to the harbour. Icon Accounting were brought out on the beautiful ‘Avalon’ and Captain Roger and Crew Member Helen were there to support us for the day. The wind was freakishly calm so the race was a slow one however we struggled through it with a glass of Rose and a few Posh Sausage Rolls all whilst having a shot at sailing the boat. Icon Accounting proved to be naturals at it and managed to finish in second place and the event was finished off with a BBQ, Band and DJ. A wonderful day was had by all and most importantly a substantial amount of money was raised for the Laura Lynn Foundation! Barbara Kelly Business Development, Icon Accounting
